A brand new theatrical trailer for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel film Leatherface has been released.
The new film takes a different approach to the character from the previous attempt to revamp the franchise, one that appears to be exploring the mind of the young killer and what made him become a killer.
'In Texas, years before the events of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in the early days of the infamous Sawyer family, the youngest child is sentenced to a mental hospital after a suspicious incident leaves the sheriffs' daughter dead. Ten years later, he kidnaps a young nurse and escapes with three other inmates. Pursued by authorities including the deranged sheriff out to avenge his daughter's death, the young Sawyer teen goes on a violent road trip from hell, moulding him into the monster known as Leatherface.'
Leatherface is directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, and stars Lili Taylor, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloor, and Stephen Dorff. The film is set for release on October 20th.
